Pic Request: Where did you Mount Your CB Mic

I use my CB on the road as well as during offroad trips so I mounted it here, close at hand. It really is pretty unobtrusive here. I like it.
Second awesome picture shows how I mounted the clip (ignore my old CB). I used some stick epoxy and molded/filed it into shape as a standoff. Not really necessary, but I think it looks better hanging straight.

That epoxy stuff is exactly what I am looking for. Got any more info on it, such as where you got it, how you molded it, and how well it has held up? I really want to mount the mic clip for my cobra 75 but I dont really like the idea of drilling to my dash. Thanks!

Mine is on the console itself, facing up, and you pull it towards the back of the truck (towards the driver) to release it. I used a decent mic clip though, a Motorola unit that actually retains the mic via a piece of spring steel and a dimple. I have the cord wrapped around the transfer case shifter to keep the slack from flopping around.

Also, I don't mind drilling, especially into dark colored surface. You can always plug the holes with black nylon plugs. In fact in the above pic there is a hole plug in use on the top of the console, about where the passenger's left knee would touch the console. Can you see it?

At the 10:00 minute mark you get a good view of it, then at 12:00 minutes I go into more depth on the CB. The Uniden CB I purchased came with a very simplistic mount for the microphone. I installed the CB radio against the center stack area on the passenger side and the microphone a little further up on the side of the center stack. I screwed in the radio and glued on the microphone mount - both are holding up beautifully after several trips.
Given a second chance at mounting everything, I'd do it exactly the same. I really like the location for the microphone and the CB itself. Both are quickly and easily accessible but do not interfere with anything else.

Well it may hold up without actually drilling through it into the dash...
Basically I kneaded it into the rough shape you see and pressed it against the dash to get the exact contour. Then I set it aside to dry- about 1/2 hr. After it was hard, I used a belt sander to make it look pretty. Drilled holes through it, painted it black and mounted the mic clip through the epoxy into the dash.
You can get the epoxy at any improvement store, many brands and types. They all work about the same, just knead what you need...I should patent that saying and make some dough. Damn, I have some really good puns today (impresses himself, lol).
Anyway, there ya go.
