Pics of a side by side comp. of silverstars VS. Razo's

So, here it is, in plain sight a side by side view of two vehicles with almost same ride height and bulb setting. The two cars are a 2005 GMC Yukon (loaded with 17's) and my 2004 sports edition. Since the ride height is a little diff. on the yukon b/c of suspension i put that truck on the down side of the slope to represent and equall platform.

Now, my car has the razos all around, but only the regular beam is being show agains the silverstars in my fathers truck.

As you can see with the same distance from the object with the same height the razos are clearly shown to be a more powerfull bulb.

Now it is working. Those Razo's make the Sivlerstars look like the stock yellow halogen bulbs. Where did you get these bulbs at and how much did they cost? Also, what is the expected lifespan? I almost bought a set of Silverstars but then had second thoughts because of lifespan and I wanted more of a blueish look.

Normally they are about 80 or so a set, or something like that. But someone on the forum said that ebay was selling them for madddddd cheap. SO i went on there, and bought one set for 8:50 plus s&h and the other set for 3:50 plus s&h. So, i got 200 dollars worth of lights for about 20 or so dollars. I think since i posted my first thread about the performance people soaked them up. I only wish that i could have bought more.

As for life span. Who knows with these performance bulbs. My guess, is if you install them correctly, i.e. don't touch with fingers, they could potentiall last a long time. But it is all about the luck of the draw.

Gotta tell you, these things really light up the road, and they aren't to blue, just enought to look nice.

They are 55w but are equivalent to 110. I guess they just burn brighter, cuz they def are brighter.

Just a little FYI-I did some research on the Razos-I found a lot of info on the internet from people that had them and ALL of them said they only last 6-10 months. If you can find them for cheap, they arent bad, but if you are going to pay $60+ for a set, I say pass them up. FYI-My silverstars are now over a year old with no problems.

Silverstars also have a much shorter life than normal bulbs. I had two sets that lasted one year (almost to the day!) in my last vehicle. And I only average about 7500 miles per year, about half of it in the nighttime hours.

I wonder why headlight bulb manufacturers don't rate their bulbs in hours of use?? Any standard bulb for a house lamp has a rating for hours of use before failure.... most are in the 1200 hour range. I just picked up a few that are rated for 20,000 hours the other day!

If a bulb burns brighter at the same wattage, chances are that they won't last as long. But, most folks are disappointed with their Silverstars life.... so these pics are perfect, thanks for the comparison!

Sorry, disregard that last message, I registered.... I didn't realize it was just a 2 line question deal. A few comments, questions...

Those Razo's definitely look slick when looking AT the vehicle. Very HID-like! But I don't think they look any brighter on the ground - does anyone agree?

It's tough to tell from those photos just how the beam's brightness compares because the Silverstars are projected right under a street lamp, right?

The BLUE hue of the Razos on the ground doesn't look that bright to me. Looks like the $10/pr, 55w (output claim of 80w), Japanese ones that I put in my wife's cougar. Obviously it totally depends on the user whether or not it's "ricey" or "too" blue. I think I will order a pair of 65w ones, mod them, and toss them in the fog light lamps to see how that looks...

For what it's worth: Right now I'm running Silverstar (65w 9005 mod) for low beams, stock 65w halogens for highs, & stock 55w fogs. Defintely a difference. The 65w makes a BIG difference in low beam brightness, and looks great with that beam cutoff, plus it's alot whiter than stock halogens.

The color does look bluer when looking at the lights... but alot of them are just what they are.. bluer when you look at them. The real difference is whether the intensity gets carried onto the road, because ultimately... that's what your buying these bulbs for... for the brightness on the road.

Yea, he figures if it ain't broke. dont fix. And besides, everything else out there was isht that he was looking at. I.E. Navigator, and armada. Plus, he keeps them for like two years and gives em' back, so to him, he really doesn't give a isth

There is a huge difference in the appearance, not so much difference in lighting up the road. I installed one and kept one of the silverstars in, and yeah, the razo made the silverstar look like the stock yellow halogen.

Now, the silverstars did light up the road nicely. The razos do the same thing with a whiter/bluer light, almost like moonlight.

I just like the appearance much better.
