pics of hood protector parts

Here are some pictures of the hood protector parts that come in hte bag with out instructions. The yellow sticker on hte protector warns you to follow the instructions. I have written Toyota Canada but so far no reply on the missing instructions.

In your post to the "Hood Protector" thread, you mentioned application of "tape". Is there tape that is applied between the deflector and the hood, or is it just rubber 'bumpers' that separate the two? The yellow warning label looks like it has pictures of bumpers. If it does have tape, did you apply it to the hood or the deflector?

in the picture which isn't that great, the 5 bumpers are holding down a piece of white paper. On the paper there are 8 peal and stick what appears to be 3M stickies. I am taking it all to a dealer to get it installed tomorrow friday and will post once its done. I had not received the installation instructions with the protector and was confused as to what order the pieces go together. I assume the 3m stickies go on the hood not the protector to save the paint.

Where did you get the Hood protector because I can't seem to find it anywhere on the internet? Are you talking about a bug guard (Deflector) that goes on the hood or the protective film they put on the front of the hood?

I suggest that you download the repair manual. This will get you the install instructions (hint: Accessories Installation) and answer your questions.

I purchased the hood protector at Heninger Toyota in Calgary Alberta. About 130$ CDN. It is not the film 3M process but a pre cut sheet of acrylic plastic with 8 holes in it for install.

Installed hood protector/deflector

Here are some pictures of the OEM hood protector/deflector installed. Sorry about all the rain drops. It is a very solid fit doesn't appear to be any flex once all tightened down.

Since Canada has decided not to allow me into the country (yes, really) for stupid stuff I did while 18, drunk, and criminally stupid (yes, really), I have decided not to spend any more time trying to get the hood deflector from Canadian dealers.

My apologies to our Canadian friends here on the boards, but your government is re****ed. You will harbor draft dodgers, murderers, and drug peddlers and protect them from our courts of law, but my "dine'n'dash" from 1988 makes me too damn dangerous to risk letting me cross the border?

No agrument there Mike. Whole heartily agree with you when it comes to our justice(if thats what they call it) system. Is there anyway of getting your status changed?
On another topic here are the pics from farther away. Also have had the front all 3M'd. We tend to have a lot of rocks on the roads up here in Calgary...another topic for discussion.

You know, this stuff happened so long ago that I was dumbstruck that it even came up. Hell, I worked for law enforcement, security companies, and hold a concealed carry permit in 4 states and I've NEVER had a problem. Canada decides that it's equivalent to an "indictable offense" in their system, and therefore I am criminally inadmissible.

However, it's only been since our governments began sharing criminal records that people have had this kind of issue pop up. I'm sure there are more than a few Canadians with similar stories. It seems to have become tit-for-tat between the two border agencies.

Honestly if it wasn't for the city of Victoria, which I have a fondness for, it would be a big nothingburger because there isn't anything else there. :flamethrwoer2:
