they are "smoked" or blacked out on the top and sides where the SR5/LTD has chrome.

Man, if you're going to buy and swap TE headlights, go for an HID/projector conversion. Fantastic headlights.

Where did you purcahse the new grill valance? Did you have to buy the whole grill kit?

I've wanted to do this for a long time now but budget does not permit! I want to try doing it myself to save money but I don't want to f* up.

This is a must have for me. I don't like the HID spreading everywhere.

Coming from a 2010 BMW with adaptive Bi-Xenon lights, I find these factory headlights/fogs putting out good light. I think they are better than the 08 4Runner I had with projectors. LEDs sure would look nice in the back though!

Looks good!Was there a something wrong with your original grill?If it's just for looks,the ONLY difference between the TE grill and the SR5/Limited grill is the "wings".
The TE's wings are black plastic and the SR5/Limiteds are the same plastic piece that was painted chrome.

It's held on by 2 screws and 4 clips,is easily removable without taking off the whole upper grill and could have just been swapped,rather then the whole grill as they are the same.

I just sanded the chrome paint with a orbital sander and painted mine.

LOL, I figured that out after pulling that old bish off. Would have been easier but hey, I paid for a new grille...may as well put it on....even though my existing grille had all of 1100 miles on it. :hatsoff:
