Pioneer 6100N Nav receiver integration

Upgrading my 2004 4Runner head unit from the stock JBL 10 speaker system. Anyone know the best places to tap into the wiring system for the car speed signal, parking brake, and reverse gear inputs? Integration of the audio works great with the TYT0-01 Metra harness. Just need the other 3 input locations.

Just did an install of the 5100 in my 2008 (non-jbl) a few months ago. Not sure how different the two wiring schemes are. I used a combination of wiring diagrams and forum posts to find the three wires.

He shows the location of the parking wire. Also he mentions the VSS wire and points to the red/yellow wire but that one is actually the reverse light wire that you can tap into.

For the VSS/speed wire I could actually use a wire that is on one of the original wiring harness connectors that was not used once you unplug them from the factory unit. It should be Purple with a red stripe. Let me know if you don't see that wire on the one of your factory audio system connectors that isn't used anymore.

Thanks for the info! I've figured out most of the 3 connections....VSS, Reverse, and Parking brake. Issue now is do I need a "Y" connector for the 2 stock antenna inputs?

You shouldn't. As long as you wire up the power antenna amplifier it shoulf be fine. I have the 4100nex and only hooked up the one antenna plug. all radio stations work great.

You're a stronger man than I. I spent over two hours trying to install my 8100nex and finally gave up and took it to a shop here in Austin

Yes, works great that way. Antenna amplifier wired in and using the larger RCA.

Been taking my time with this. Actually it's been kind of fun.

Its a TaoTronics model TT-CC17. I've seen better but it does the job and it was only around 30 bucks or so.
