Plasti-Dip your wheels?

Here is the front which was done with only black spray paint. I like the way it matches the paint. The back is plasti dip. I haven't decided if I want to clear the plasti dip or maybe even put a coat of black spray paint over the plasti dip or remove the plasti dip and just use the spray paint.

I think that looks excellent. It matches your rear wiper arm and window trim perfectly. Your grill might look better like that too.

Ikeep hearing that supposedly this should peel right off, has anyone actually tested that theory? (giving my pointer finger a break lol)
Lots of guys in my G37 forum have peeled it off various different parts. They say that the thicker you put it on, the easier it is to peel off.
Definitely. Any porous surface will make it much more difficult to peel off.

Im new here 9/23. this is an awesome idea if it works that well, im gonna get some and paint my stock 16" rims on my 93 runner. probably gonna mask them off real well first since i just got new 245/70/16 diffinity dakota a/t's. I went with alittle smaller of a tire since i live up a huge grade off I36/139 in lassen county. these engines have little gusto when it comes to going up steep grades, otherwise its fine.

I tested this earlier today on my Spare Tire. It looks freakin awesome! I also peeled it off to see just how easy this would be to remove and it took maybe all of 6 minutes to fully remove. I will be doing this to all the wheels this weekend. I put 3 pretty heavy coats on the wheel and it was not easy to scratch to start the removal process.

I think it would look better with the contrast instead of trying to match the paint. Besides, I doubt you'll be able to get a high gloss finish to match your factory paint by using a spray can. Even the pics of your grill don't look glossy like the factory paint. Why not just go for the contrast of a flat black?

Update: So I sprayed all of the plastic pieces on my 4Runner...front bumper plastic, grill, mudflaps, complete running boards, license plate holder, etc and I have been wanting to run it through a car wash to see how it held up...you know one of those drive through car washes that scrape your entire car, while blasting it with a high power jet of water and then a wind tunnel with winds of tornado speed.
Glad to say that the plasti-dip held up well...no scratching, no peeling, etc The only place that I can see a problem is where one of my dogs jumped in the back and stepped on the bumper and one of their claws cut the plastic dip...other than that it cleaned up, held up and looks good

I finished my emblems and they turned out great. This stuff is nice to use because I scratched one and it was easy to just peel it off and respray.
