Plasti-diping emblems and door handels question.

Has anybody used plasti-dip to paint their door handles or emblems? I want to get rid of the crome and was wondering if anybody has pictures or tips on how they did this. Thanks!

Lookup Trevloc's thread. Everyone does the emblems and they come out really well. There's a video on here somewhere too.

plasti dip isn't the product to use for the door handles, all the constant contact will rub it all off. take them off and spray paint them

How do i make sure i dont get plasti dip between the letters on the emblems?

if you search plasti dip that will answer alot of your questions about it. it is everywhere on this forum.

as for the in between the emblems. it will get there, then you just use a tooth pick and pull it off in between them. its easy. there is a really good video on here about it.
i spray painted mine black, but

I plasti-dipped my door handles 3 or 4 weeks ago...they're holding up perfectly! Then again, the driver's door is the only one that gets used on a regular basis. If I had kids to cart around, I'd probably paint them proper. If they ever start to chip/peel, I probably will paint them...I just wanted to plasti-dip them first to see if I liked the look. I do!

So I've got a question. Do you guys think this will hold up if I apply it to a painted surface without any prep of should I just sand everything down. I'm going to do my metal rear bumper and my plastic trim. Thanks.

if your talking about using plastidip, then you don't need to sand or prep anything, because plasti dip only adheres to itself. just clean it off first

but i did my center caps and i sanded them and they came out really well. i also did my rear spoiler and i did not sand only cleaned and it came out alright, if you look close youd see it looks like it was painted with cheap spray paint. im not sure how it will look on the metal bumper or plastic front bumper. just dont wanna waste a can to find out i do need to sand
