While that's true I'm trying to avoid paying for a litre there what we pay for a gallon here. Luckily I figured it all out! Pictures coming soon!
Had everything I needed
A perfectly cut piece of 3/4" plywood, sections of pine to make a box around the cans. And straps.
I plan on using 6 gopro adhesive pads attached to metal plates on the wood to hold it down to the trailer (you guys may be scratching your heads but those adhesives are strong as hell) additionally there will be comealong straps going over the front and back of the wood panel that are hooked to the bottom of the trailer AND a third strap going through the tops of the gas can handles. It may work.
I was going to Ubolt from underneath using the cross members on the roof but I don't want to increase the risk of leaking

Be sure to watch you're tongue weight...not enough can cause serious problems towing.
If fuel costs are getting too high along your trip you can leave that 60 series in my driveway. I'll take good care of it 
Do they not pay you for mileage on a relocation trip like this? I know when our Forces folks are moved they shouldn't have any out of pocket expenses for the travel.

There should be a good amount of the heavy "unneeded during trip" stuff up front. I'm going to center the cans on the trailer as well (moved forward from what you see in the picture for that reason alone and to have 2 cross beam

You've got a good eye!!! And it's being sold up here as I can't afford to take with and its not ship worthy due to its non functioning parking brake. If you were closer I'd sell it to ya
And we do. $0.19 a mile driven, just looking to minimize all moving costs to benefit us financially. And I'd rather pay for fuel by the gallon here than by the litre in Canada! Good grief it's expensive there!

I guess I can be stupid twice in your thread, eh? So you're carrying 20 gallons of fuel to keep from buying it in CAN, yes?
So, once you're in CAN you use the 20 gallons, saving $50-60 dollars one time. Now your jugs are empty, you're in CAN, no more cheap gas.
Seems like a lot of trouble to save $50-$60 LESS the price of materials. Where am I wrong?

I see! So you're going to you a nail gun and attach the gas cans to the plywood. Ingenious!

Well of course it sounds bad when you use logic instead of whatever I used! And in all reality I've had to purchase nothin except the gas cans ($40 off CL, one was full too). I have the 3 ratchet straps: front, back, and in the middle going through the gas can handles. And all of the wood was scrap heading for a junk pile somewhere. I guess I'd rather save a little bit of money and have fun building something. It's probably a terrible idea.
Negative. There will be a ratchet strap going through the handles hooked to the underside of the trailer on both ends.

I'd do it to save $50, especially if I already had the cans and materials. And you use those cans can extend your range so you only have to fill up at the lowest-price stations (found using the GasBuddy app or similar).
FWIW, the shortest major route from USA-to-USA along the AlCan is about 1800 miles, and that's going straight down to Washington state. If you're going farther east it's longer.
