Pledging?

Anyone else go through this? It is 10 days at my college and it has been literal hell. I'm done saturday at 12:00 but until then I will be in hell. Send some prayers up for me y'all.

So the question is, Who has pledged, What they pledged, and where they pledged?

I am going to me a Sigma Iota Delta (SID) at Lipscomb University. You'd think a christian school would have easy pledging.. not..

I never pledged. Didnt see any reason or benefit to it. I went to Southern Illinois University @ Carbondale. The greek system there was pretty weak and very click'ish. In my opinion its only worth it to pledge at a school which has a strong healthy greek system that can help with career connections after you graduate. If I had gone to a more nationally recognized school such as U of I, Perdue, Iowa, I probably would have pledged. But those are my personal reason.

Best of luck to making it through.

I would also recommend looking into Alka Seltzer Wake Up call. It might help making it through mornings/afternoons a little easier.

Best hangover cure in the world is a big glass of Pedialyte, 2 Ibuprofen, and a smaller glass of sparkling water with lime.

10-days? That is it? Back in the day (ok I feel old for saying that) 96-00' you were a 'pledge' for close to a semester, then you had initiation week (iweek), where the real fun happened at the very end. 10 days is a cake walk, I will not say prayers for you, I will just call you lucky. The Greek system can be great, but just make sure you 'fit in' where you are joining and you like the people you are going to be with. Just because you are Greek does not mean you can not have friends outside your organization, and GASP within other different organizations! Have fun!

I went to a school that was 85% greek. Our pledgeship lasted 4 months, and we lived in the house 24/7 from day one. I could have only wished for 10 days...thats nothing. Worst part was, we never knew when it was going to end. Plus, we were at a school that was all male, and literally only one rule..."act like a gentleman at all times, on and off campus." So they could definitely get away with a lot more than at most schools.

Enjoy it though, those were some of the best times I had. Plus, once you do it once, you get to be the one doing it the next three years.

It's not all brotherhood... A solid frat can truly open a LOT of doors outside of college.

Military is great... Not the same though.

YEah I know, just giving you all a hard time. Lol.
