I think you may have fuel injector problems. I've seen it on a few different toyotas. I recently had a 2000 Celica that was throwing a P0171 and after doing a lot of things you did, I ended up replacing all 4 fuel injectors and it solved the problem.
At first I thought no way it could be the injectors because it should set a misfire code but low and behold it was the injectors. I even tested them all with my volt meter and they checked out ok. But it seems like you've tried everything else. Only problem is they are expensive.

I sure hope not, especially with only 140k. What are the odds that they are all bad...? I keep thinking fuel pump, which again should not have failed. The car does have some history of sitting for awhile when it was wrecked back in the day.

Yeah I took it in... my gut tells me fuel pump but I didnt want to keep replacing stuff, and with a toyota specialist diagnostic of $65, it will be worth it.

I dont know if it means much, but when I did the fuel filter, it was under heavy pressure and sprayed out for like 30secs
I havnt been getting any hissing when I remove my fuel cap throughout this whole diagnosis problem. Drove my cousins nissan truck, and when I went to fuel up, it had quite alot of air escape...

The only time mine will gasp like that is when the tank is very empty .
I can wrench with the best of them , but I have learned the hard way over the years , that before I'll go on a ' replacing everything ' spree now , I'll take it to Toyota and have it diag'd . IMO your money ahead , sometimes by a lot.

Oh . Not sure about the fuel pressure on the other side of the filter ( you know your suppose to bleed that line first huh ? )

I never planned on replacing everything, just was so convinced on each thing, and I am stubborn. I thought I could do it myself. Usually can....
I have heard you can bleed, or not bleed it. I never did the previous time I changed the filter and all was well. Just gotta watch out for the spray.

Forgot to mention I bought some bilstein shocks and struts the day before this happened, and they just arrived. Once I got my yota back, she will have lots of new parts. Hope I see a big ride improvement over the junk that was on there. I know it was night and day after I installed bilsteins on my T100.

Mechanic called today, I had 20psi fuel pressure, when it should be 38-44psi. I had a feeling, but wasn't about to throw more money at it. So that's good news... I should have tested it but I didnt have the right connector that looks like a circle, and you have to reinstall the banjo bolt I think its called...Was just tired of guessing already!
The Bilstein's I got for $67 a piece are the Heavy Duty I got the last for $67 but ebay has them for $76ish a pc

Fuel pump is what they are telling me. I have a super full tank also poor guy...
I didnt give it much thought on the bilsteins, I guess I should have looked at the adjustables more, I just want a smooth ride, no lift anyway. I loved these on my t100.
Now you get me wondering if I made the right choice haha

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think you can run the 5100's , they just have more travel and I believe are a healthier shock . You dont need lift to run them .
Oh , my fuel pump went tits up 2 hours from home so the nearest dealer did mine and my tank was right full too
The new Toy pump was $350.00 , plus labor .

Wow, the dealer will get ya! Anyhow, I picked it up, and it was definetely the fuel pump. Runs great now. Today, I install my bilsteins.

You can run the 5100's. You just have to purchase them for either a 1st gen Tacoma or a 1st gen Tundra. The Tacoma ones are softer and the Tundra ones are stiffer, the difference is obviously based on vehicle weight. I have the Tacoma 5100's on mine. Set at the highest adjustment and 1.5 spacers in the rear and it sits perfectly level. Rides great too, can run over speed humps at 30mph like they aren't even there.
I got mine from Downsouth Motorsports for $210 with shipping and new dust boots.
