Possible SW bumper mod.

I'm thinking about adding some screening (like that used by Grillcraft) to put behind the rear sloping bottom cut-outs in my SW bumper. The purpose is to keep derbies and packed snow away from the radiator. I think that bolting it to the bumper from behind with 4 bolts for each hole and good sized fender washers (all in stainless of course) should do the trick.

I also think I'm going to coat the sloping aluminum skid plate in DIY LineX. Here in CO they use a LOT of Mag Chloride which does a number on aluminum finish that's really hard to clean up.

Opinions?

I say go for it. Should be functional and look good.

Sounds like it could look pretty trick. One down side thought is that these holes do serve a purpose as access holes for winch operation, and if you cover them it would prohibit access.

You can get around using the passenger side hole(solenoid box use) by installing a wireless kit, or using a solenoid box extension allowing you to plug in your controller at the top face of the bumper. The driver side hole though is pretty crucial for getting to the clutch leaver on the winch.

On the other hand, if your not running a winch or dont plan on running one in the future, you dont have to worry about it at all!

I ordered it with the Ramsey Patriot wireless remote so I should be good to go. I just need to find a good place to mount the antenna.
