Thanks I just wanted to clarify because if the price was better then I wouldn't believe it myself. If this works out (nothing is ever done until its done) then I will make sure to post pictures of the changes. I have been looking also and I can't find any on lots either...

my awesome wife however had been in contact with another local dealer. Today she calls to say that the salesman is willing to give us what we want for trade, and that he has a 2013 Magnetic Grey coming in this Friday, 4x4 SR5, and that they will do $31,775 for it. I think my wife is doing a deposit this afternoon to let them know we are serious.

She must have had a pretty cute outfit on for that Skype conversation! :girl::hiding:

I think the most important thing is, You are getting what you and your wife want. It's a bonus that the trade is working out in addition to price and it's a 2013.

My wife was in the general area of the dealership for work today. She swung by and verified that they had the vehicle (they do) and spoke to the salesman for a little bit. Hopefully if everything goes well we should be in and out in a couple hours tomorrow in our new 4Runner.

I smiled to myself when i read this post regarding talking to the salesman. 99% of the time the salesman at a toyota dealer is some kid who doesnt know squat about the vehicle you are looking at and will say anything to get you in that car/truck. the other 1% he's not a kid....

I have yet to talk with a sales person at any dealer other than BMW that knew anything significant about the vehicles they sell.

they are not even a step up from a best buy sales person. Whats to talk about?

I know it sounds condesending but this has been my experience and i've bought 24 different vehicles in the last 20 years...

Well everyone approaches car buying differently. I hate the process personally, and yet "Bob" over e-mail and the phone got us what we wanted in trade when all the other dealers were $2,500 off. Beyond that I typed the price wrong... We are getting $31,775 from $34,6xx. She stopped in because we hadn't met him.

Edit: The tried to hose us on financing and we held firm at the price point we wanted to be at... they told us they would get us to that price point monthly. We went to our credit union got half the rate they quoted, and found out that instead of adjusting the rate they gave us $500 more than we asked for on trade... we ended up getting an even better deal than we thought!
