post pics of silver 4runners..

I'm not too mechanically either. My dad and I just followed a guide that I found online. The hardest part is cutting the whole. We should have bought this drill type thing from Lowes for like $7. It would have made it a lot quicker. It's like a circular attatchment that you put on the end of a drill.

I covered the decplate at the middle of the summer, because when i open the hood it feels like i opened an oven and i don't want the engine to use this hot air from under the hood. I'll probably open it again in the winter. (Chicago extreme weather :bash: )

And remember when you open or close you need to reset the computer by unplugging the minus of the battery for about a minute and like Clemsonfan15
said there isn't much gain, i did feel improvement but maybe it was from a fresh K&N filter.

I just did the decplate without the straight elbow connector mod thingee.

andystrwake, two questions:

Is that trim piece around your license tag chrome? And is your rear wind deflector painted silver to match your 4Runner?

Or am I totally off and the color of them is just created by the angle of the camera?

Sloan: they are Manik Nerf bars painted factory silver. I like the way they look, but I am afraid I am going to dent them up off roading.
RockSlide: trim piece is chrome, and the rear wind deflector also was painted with factory silver.

No pics of front or 4 runner because there is no bumper and I don't like seeing it that way!

Just realized you were in SC. :).

Where did you pick up that chrome piece around the licence plate?

How much did it cost to paint the wind deflector?
 
Chrome piece was on when I bought it. I thought it was a factory piece, never thought much of it till you said something. Tried quick google search and could not find anything??????? I sprayed them myself, but I forget what I paid for the paint at stealership.

That's cool. I don't think I have seen a 4runner with a chrome piece like that.

I also didn't know that the dealership had spray paint. I thought they just sold touch up paint.

Is your color Desert Dune?
 
Rock sliders are for protection while off roading. They are made to take the abuse of hitting rock and protecting the area under your doors. This link shows some great pics for reference.

Nerf bars are not made for trail protection. Made more for a step into truck, light protection, or just looks.

I might trade my manik nerf bars for a pair of nice rock sliders if anyone is interested?:D

Yeah. I like it. I've noticed that is sounds better from the inside if the windows are down. I don't really know what it sounds like from the outside because I'm pretty much the only one who drives the 4runner.

I might try and get some video of the sound if I have time. Can't promise anything though.
 
thanks man, if you get some video of how it sounds post the link up here for us to hear.... i plan on either using the stock pipes, or doin a pipe that comes out next to the trailer hitch....
