Ol'B it looks good! How do you like the Mickey Thompson tires? Decent in snow and balance well? Still wish the US got the Canadian SR5 trim package.

Ol'Baditude - 4Runner looks great! How do you like the MT ATZs? I just received my order for the same tires (285/70/17's) but I have to wait another 4-6 weeks to mount them up - still waiting on my new wheels. How do you like the tires? Some mixed reviews out there on noise level, including some that say they're pretty noisy for an A/T - your thoughts? How about the ride and on road feel?
Most of the reviews I read lauded how well the tires performed offroad, so I'm looking forward to testing them out! They seem pretty mild in pictures, but are very aggressive when you see them in person! I considered BFG ATs, but the MT ATZs win hands down in the looks department.

You're right, they're definitely an aggressive tire; even more so than in any pictures you see online. The one thing about the Baja ATZ, particularly in the 285 and larger sizes, is that they seem to be meant as an MT/AT crossover (if there even is such a thing?). Despite being called an ATZ, they are stamped as MT right on the tire, but definitely less aggressive than the MTZ 33's that I saw in the shop the other day. By comparison, the tread lugs are larger and set a bit farther appart than a BFG, Toyo, Nitto, etc AT tires. As such there is a little bit of road noise (keep in mind I'm comparing to the stock Bridgestone Dueler HT's), but more than bearable and not audible with the radio on at Volume 10 or higher.
As far as handling goes(again comparing to stock, and almost anything is better), the on-road manner is fine on the streets and on the highway. Definitely a lot more confidence going in to corners, but I'm sure some of that has to do with the suspension upgrade as well.
I'm hoping to get them out in the snow and mud shortly, and I'll PM ya when I have a bit more experience with them. However, people I know with this tire are very happy with the off-road prowess.
