Post your LIFTED pix here!

this is what started my love with toyotas, my 1985 4runner.

Badass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, after reading this whole thread over 3 days (thanks, boring nights at work) I feel pretty confident in my choice to have gotten a basic Toytec 2.5" front / 1.5" rear leveling lift. I think that'll present the look I'm seeking at the price point I desire without causing any other issues or affecting the ride too much. My offroad forays are pretty mild, mostly; I really just like to tear up rough gravel and dirt roads.

I plan on getting new tires, not for appearances, but because I just don't really like the Mastercrafts that the PO has on it. They are stock size mud terrain tires. I'll be replacing them with Firestone Destination AT which don't really seem to get a lot of love on here but which I've had great experience with on my Tacoma and Xterra.

I'm keeping the stock wheels. I gotta say, I only really like the bronze TRD wheels and black military style steelies as possible replacements. Some of the bling in this thread has failed to blow my skirt up especially at the price point involved ($800 a wheel!!!??).

So, two lift related questions:

Will the spacer help with the front brake dive, since the suspension is "preloaded" with the spacer in place?

Am I better retaining stock size tires or moving up one size to 275/70 17? I don't want the "tiny wheel" look but I also want there to be an obvious appearance of a lift and I wonder if going up one size wouldn't eat up a bit of the gap between the wheels / fenders and make the whole thing just look stock.

2014 Trail non KDSS.

NO LIFT ---->

Lifted pics to be coming once I figure out the tire size, probably do it this week.

awpsome; No spacers just 285 Duratracs on factory TE rims. No rubbing on any mud flaps had rubbing on driver side fender liner and had to heat and bend back.

Awesome to hear!
no rubbing both on and offroad?

for heating the fender liner, more than just pulling the front fender liner?

Thanks!

Just got back from alignment shop. Installed the 5100s myself and kept the stock springs. Now I gotta get some sweet tires. Any body sell their stock tires? What did you get for them?

Bottom= After

Its a revtek 3 inch. 285 70 17 bfg ko2s. Thanks a lot man

How do you like the ride and everything? It's not 3" on all 4 corners right? Probably lower in the back?

Edit: I think I found it, no Springs/coils huh? Just uses stock with new shocks?

I'm new to this board as I picked up my 2014 TEP with KDSS about 6 weeks ago. I have searched extensively through the lifts and have decided to go with 5100s all around just to level the front and reduce nose dive for now. I live in an apartment with street parking and no access to a garage or driveway, nor the tools necessary to do the job myself. So, calling around some shops and I'm being quoted what seem like ridiculous prices. One place last night said having KDSS added another 2 hours of labor and brought the total job to 7 hours and over $700 just for the install.

So, question is, for those that have had this done, what should I reasonably be expecting to pay? Follow up question, anyone in the Portland area interested in making a few bucks on the side?? :)

Yeah. Its what the dealership uses when they lift one. Its supposed to keep the ride exactly the same as factory settings. I couldnt be happier, it rides great!

I've visited a couple shops around here, and i think the rate is close to $75 - $90 an hour for labor and a 5 hr job. I didn't want to cough up $500 since this site was so helpful in pushing me towards installing it myself.

I guess I can post pics in this thread now even tho the "lift" I installed this weekend was only the Toytec front top plate spacer (P/N: TOP1-T). I basically wanted to level it out a little while keeping the Xreas (at least until it needs replacing :naughty:) It's still not fully level, but better than before.

Installation was pretty easy thanks to sp8ball's instructions in the DIY section :thumb::

I have a 2014 TEP w/ KDSS (DFW area). I had a new/local offroad shop install my 5100s since I don't have the time. I think I paid about $350-400 for install and alignment. They had 2 guys working on it and knocked it out in about 2 or so hours. KDSS is not that big of deal, and for a pro-shop, it shouldn't add that much time from what my guys told me. Just my 2 cents...

Just double checked my bill...$325.

Damn! $700!!!

I paid $200 for a local shop to do it. They even did an alignment after for free.
