Power antenna

Does anyone know how big of a deal it is to repair/change the power antenna on a 97 4Runner? My antenna goes up when the radio is turned on, but will not go down when turned off (started happening around 4 months ago). From an initial inspection it seems that I will need to remove the passenger side front fender in order to get to the root of the problem....

You may not need to remove the front fender, removing the fender flares should do the trick.

We also have a second antenna in the side rear glass, that may help a little before you replace yours. Good luck.

It still sounds like a big project. Let us know how it comes out. I expect I will be doing this in a few years for my 2001.
