Power steering

99 LTD 4runner im having intermittent power steering issues usually when its cold it acts up, once warm its fine. Wife just called me and said its out completely, no power at all. I checked the fluid level, which was fine and the belt was also good, no visible leaks. Im stumped. Any ideas

Rack is on its way out. It's commonly referred to as morning sickness.

It's not just like that. It's acting up when cold, gets better when warm. It will eventually start taking longer to work properly until its finally gone. It's also 14 years old, it's had a decent run.
