Practical DIY 4Runner Care

Well, my '06 4Runner is 15 months old (4530 miles on od.) and I just took it to the dealership for the 5,000 service. I asked the service manager if there's anything I can do (or not do) to keep the truck as perfect as possible. All he could tell me is "don't hit anything".

Do any of you have any tips or suggestions for vehicle care in between scheduled service?
For example, living where I do, I don't open the sun roof very often. Should I occasionally put some lubricant on the tracks?
Any and all tips would be appreciated.

If I lived in Alaska my Runner would have:

Block Heater
Synthetic lubes (Engine, fr & rr diff, and t-case)
Keep u joints lubed

LOTS of paint sealant/ Wax on finish

not much of a winter I heard from my ninjas up there at least so far. service guy comment "don't hit anything" typical AK humor......undercarriage treatment comes to mind as well as a good coat of blue corral.......I also like to put extra wax on the front bumper etc. there are a couple car washes up there with underspray if I remember that part right.......
