Price check if ya'll think its fair 16,500 --> 2006

I'm looking into buying a 2006 T4R V8 4x4 SE with 95k. So far nothing has been changed on it and all maintenance is up to par and good. Engine and all is also in good shape. Asking 16,500 firm
Think this is a lil steep? KBB quoting nothing more than 14

Thoughts on expected/unexpected?

I have a 99 sr5 2wd 174k and want a 4x4 for moving north and getting into some real weather

manheim money report says an '06 V8 4x4 SE with 95k regionally adjusted to the west coast, in average condition auctions for $16,150 and above average at $18,500. My guess is that is a little high but not to high. Manheim, for those who don't know, is the worlds largest auto auction. I would consider that to be a good indicator of wholesale pricing. I would also check cars.com and see what comparable 4Runner's are listed at in your region, private and dealer.

Sounds pretty decent to me. Just make sure they did the timing belt at 90k. I just picked up an 07 Limited V6 4x4 with 94K for $17k.

Sounds good to me. When we bought our 2006 in the Summer of 2015, it had 120K and we paid nearly that much!

Thank you guys for all your insight. Have any of you had issues with the V8? Anything i should look out for specifically? ie - transfer case actuator and how to tell if its ok still?

I Bought my 06 t4r SR5 with 115k mileage last September for KBB value. 14k with some change. I think its high but that's just me.

I was in the 4runner market for about a month and I can tell you that the pricing for them out here in California is a bit higher than other states, including neighboring states. This is especially true for 4x4 models where they tend to be less common. I struggled to find one to my liking and was very tempted to look for one out of state. Luckily something eventually came up for sale and I was able to pay what I felt was fair price for it. But then again, I wasn't exactly in a hurry to buy one.

For some reason they seem to sell for more on the left coast. Not sure why. When I sold my 03 I had a bunch of people from Cali calling me about mine.

I definitely agree... the west coast market is tough to find 4x4 T4R. I'm planning on taking it up to Alaska in the next few weeks

I just bought my 08 SR5 V6 4x4 with 131K for 16K. They are really desired out here in Northern California. I traded in my Silverado for the what it blue booked out for. Chevy 1500's 2500's, Ford F150's, 4Runners and Jeeps are so expensive out here because everyone wants one.

Wow that's pretty high. I got my 06 V8 4x4 for $11,500 three years ago from a dealer with 109k miles.

No concerns with the V8, actuator problems are from those people who never used it. I haven't had any issues of concern for the 80K I've put on it.

I paid about that for mine a few years ago, V8, same mileage. Seems high to me as well but I don't know anything about CA pricing.

After seeing those prices I'll sell mine in CA when the time comes! :hatsoff:

it ran great but accumulated quite a bit of cosmetic here and theres... which small stuff will add up over time. That and rust on the back latch interior door... having second thoughts now

Hell, that sounds downright cheap compared to what a lot of people pay for those things up in Seattle...you think it's bad out here in So Cal you haven't seen anything. SE rigs seem to be a lot more desirable , especially up there for some reason. Taco 4x4s and 4runners command a hefty premium, I remember being up there and seeing 15 year old Tacomas with 150-200k on the clock (some even have salvage titles!) for well over 15k! uke:
