Bought my wife a 2010 TE loaded last fall for $38,000-this was the invoice according to the dealer and the web sites I saw. MSRP for this one was $42,000. I don't know where you live but a dealer in Durango, Co said he sells a lot of 4R's and has a local company install aftermarket nav system for $800-$1400. You probably could find someone to install yours.

Two months ago, I paid $32,500 for my 2010 TE w/o KDSS or Nav. I got a pretty smoking deal.
holy crap, $33k for a brand new 2011 TE? I'm seeing used 2010's going for $35k. I'm about ready to shop around in my area - how did you get them to come down to such a low price? Is this what can be expected today with higher gas prices etc?

Without KDSS and Nav it's an SR5 with some electronic gizmos and better looking trim.

and an electronic locking rear dif., and the trim with better approach and departure angles, and the wheels, and the different roof rack, and the sunroof, and the power outlets, and the upgraded stereo, and the sliding cargo rack, and the waterproof fabric, and the electronic gizmos....
for the price, and comparably equipped sr5 4x4 is damn close in price to the trail with the same options. Having a $2500 stereo/Nav system is not really a "trail" item. The KDSS is, but it's also one more gizmo thing to break off road, of which the trail has enough obviously.
Hence, i bought a trail with no additional options, rather than an sr5 4x4.

Boch Toyota in Norwood, NH. Bought my Honda their about 4.5 yrs ago, both deals no other dealer could touch. I really didnt want the running boards, and wheel locks at an extra toyota accs cost of around 500. They did have one without it but all the paperwork was done and really didnt want the hassle of changing it because I know I can sell them later if I dont grow to like them. Would have been 32365 instead. I negoiate thru the web with most dealers then after hammering away at price there, I will reach out by phone with the 3 closest, usually boch. Then I usually can get another 500 to 600 lower from internet final quote. Good luck. I get mine today delivered from Mass, they have to drive 3 hrs round trip too, seems like they lose on this deal.
FYI, it also just came in to the dealership last week and had 3 miles on it. Never sat on the lot.

There were only about 3-4 Trails in NH and none with KDSS, There was one 2010 left over but they wanted the same price as my 2011 without the RB, Alloy locks. Boch had only 3 and they are the biggest dealer in NE, and largest in Sales in the USA...Very hard to get. I would assume it will also depreciate less then other models due to this.

Not defensive, just adding to your comment. I would love to have the KDSS, but it was impossible to find without Nav, and the $5k jump in price was hard to justify.
As of a week and a half ago, there were only 5 TEs in all of the Southeast, I looked for a few weeks. There were only 2 in Florida as it was. Now there's one!
I paid $37k (MSRP: $38,9) for a TE with KDSS, no Nav in CO a week ago. One of only two in the state with KDSS. I think I could have done better on the OTD price, but supply and demand limited my ability to push this lower. The goods news is that they gave move for my trade in, so it all worked out.

There is a Gray one at the dealer here in Boise with KDSS and no NAV for $39,995 + running boards. Seems as most places the KDSS and NAV come together of the TE's I have seen in Idaho it seems all have had KDSS but it was 50/50 with and without NAV. The wife and I are in the early stages of shopping around deciding what we want exactly. I could take it or leave it on the KDSS. Definitely DO NOT want the factory NAV. Have seen too many problems that were expensive to fix. Seems a $200 Garmin Nuvi from Costco is easier to deal with.
. No running boards since I'll add aftermarket sliders. About the only thing I'd like added is the cargo cover in back and perhaps heated seats since I saw that someone posted that their dealer was able to add the factory kit to their TE seats.- DH

Got all my questions answered with the dealer thru web-site / email before I went in. It was exactly what I was looking for so I didn't haggle really and felt the price was fair.

I paid $34,150 at end of December for a 2011 Trail Salsa red, non KDSS 
...but dealer has always taken good care of services on my Corolla, so I trusted them (as much as you can trust a dealer). I got the truck below invoice and below the local truecar.com price here in NYC. No KDSS here in NY area and I wanted a good deal. Not planning any crazy off roading until way after the truck is paid off. Love this truck!
