problems, problems, just about in tears

bought a 05 4runner in may. been in the shop like 9 times, and finally had Toyota say it was a blown head gasket. so I took to my mechanic and he has had it for two weeks, this is costing me 2300 plus bucks. today, he had it back together and started it, threw misfire on 1 3 and 5 so he's thinking one of my timing chains is not set right. any thoughts anyone????

Whole right bank, probably worth checking that first if he just had it apart.

Sounds like Bank 1 Chain might be off a tooth, I would just have them double check it.

If it makes you feel better that price is lower than I've seen most paying. I was figuring 3-4 if I took it to the dealer. My son and I did mine and I was in about 900 for parts, machine shop, water pump and new pulley bearings. The timing was the part I was worried about, but my son knows what he's doing and it all worked out following the FSM.
