Proline 4x4 steel rear bumper vs Hefty Fab aluminum

All I know one is 95lbs with a projected 4wk lead time at $1,500 vs the other is 48lbs, 30week time and $3k. Towing capacity on either? Anyone have one of them? Thoughts? Out of all the rear bumpers I narrowed my search to these two. Bumper only, no swing outs. (Additional bonus of aluminum: no rust or need for touch up paint since I would leave it raw).

I would feel safer driving my family with a steel rear bumper than an aluminum made one. Have you considered shrockworks?

Not crazy about design or price of Schrock.
Everything on my truck is aluminum, no rust, light and works for my needs. I have a feeling that Hefty aluminum is far better then oem.

Price, material, and lead times aside... why are you replacing the rear bumper?

For example, the main reason I would be interested in replacing the rear bumper is to increase departure angle. So what do you expect to get out of a new bumper?

I have cracks, zip ties etc minor trail damage to mine and being pro active aka looking for excuses to replace it. I also tow a cpl thousand pounds once in a while so if I was to replace it, need a stout one.

my proline bumper was nearly rusted through after a year, redid the powder coat. much better now. construction wise, the proline is ok. i have the front bumper with no moving parts. read the rear is a whole big issue with prolines. i love the look of my proline, just not how cheaply made it is.

sometimes, its better to keep it simple. (KISS).

Tough, simple, good powder coating, years of experience making the same bumper for different models. Also, shrockworks is also decently priced vs. its competition.

I vote for shrockworks....but it is a 5 month wait.

Have never heard anything good from Proline 4x4. There's no reason to consider their garbage bumper. Plenty of USA made bumpers with much better customer service.
