Proper inflaction of a C rated tire

I have 265x70x17 BFG all terrains load range c and found 36 psi is right for me. The stock tire pressure of 32 psi used to much gas from higher rolling resistance and at 40 psi the edges of the tire did not contact the ground.

I've seen that thread before, it's one of the reasons I wanted to make sure I was properly inflated.
I'll get some photos up soon. My preliminary assesment of the tires after getting the alignment done and driving them 100 miles is:
-Quite ride, even quiter than I expected
-They feel heavier. That is to say they drive heavier, I can feel that the engine is working a little harder and the car is not accelerating as fast as it used to. Haven't driven enough to calculate the drop off in mpg, but I keep meticulous calculations on mpg and will post my findings.
-There is slight rubbing when stearing is locked all the way left or right, but you shouldn't crank the wheel that far anyway. I can live with it.
-Look: Is fantastic. They fill up the wheel well a little too much, but I plan to do a lift at some point.

I've finally got an update with some photos. I'm not one to take pictures in a parking lot, so I wanted to wait until I got out on a trail. These photos are from the top of Saddleback Mountain here in Orange County. There's a lot of broadcasting equipment up there.
I've driven 1000 miles on the tires and love them. I'm running them at 45psi now. I ran at 40psi for a while and was unhappy with the MPG I lost. 45psi isn't noticeably stiffer, but it gives better MPG. I've still lost approximately 1.5 MPG from stock, which I attribute more to the weight of these tires than the change in size. Traction is fantastic, I've driven them on desert trails, torrential rains, and heavy snow with unplowed roads.
I had a slide in the snow. Going down hill at 25mph on an unplowed road I had to stop quick to avoid hitting a guy who pulled out of his driveway. ABS kicked in, then I could feel the car begin to slide, we probably slid a distance equal to half of the length of the car, then I felt a little VSC activity and suddenly it felt like the car "latched" back onto the road. We slowed to a stop. The car and tires worked to perfection when I needed it most.
