I like your idea of moding the TE, from what I have read on the TRDpro thread on here, many are not that happy with only getting a small amount of lift. (TRDP owners are saying 1 inch up front). Your 4R will be awesome! Love those wheels and tires!

Sticker with some upgrades: $43,597.00 (provided by NewGuyNY)

Congrats on the trail. Just wanted to clarify something. I'm not sure where that info came from, but the TRDP I ordered was considerably less than the price you have listed. I am paying $41,500 out the door for my Inferno when it comes in. Maybe that figure you have came from someone else.
In any case, nice rig you have there and enjoy it!

Didn't end up getting on the road until late . . . owner Tiger is a perfectionist and did an outstanding job.

I had a 100 mile trip home that included open highways, mountain curves but no off roading. The suspension was a set to the softest selection and it was pretty amazing. Had a little fun running through a shopping center blazing over speed bumps and hearing the tires but feeling almost nothing.

I expected to feel more residual recoil as shocks were turned all the way, however there was none. Keep in mind there was no off roading involved.

Looking forward to getting some time in the mountains and reporting back this weekend.

Thanks again for everyone's input!

Here's a few more shots:

Decided on the Carbon Fiber look for bumpers and eliminated glare on blower intake. :naughty:

Crack,

CF doesn't "float your boat," . . . how incredibly profound!

Having a stock TE that looks like your driving a wheelbarrow doesn't "float my boat."

No doubt I see a few people customizing their trucks in a :wtf: way, however I don't feel compelled to find and associate some out dated trend to bolster my opinion.

Seems like a cheap shot with questionable motivations.
Awww, someone's a little sensitive. Nothing personal, its not that I don't like CF, I have had lots of CF parts in my time modding cars, its fake CF that I don't like. Either way its one person on the internet's opinion :thumb:

I guess people were not supposed to comment unless they they had something good to say. :tape2:

I'm with you, the fake CF looks silly.

Good looking rig. That's the exact color, etc we are trying to locate. You mentioned better pricing out east but I have actually seen the opposite. The Trail Premiums seem to be a little more rare here in TN and the surrounding areas than out west so they tend to go for a little more. We can't find one within 500 miles so having to get it direct from Toyota.

Are those carbon fiber pieces wraps or new pieces?

Wrap.

Thought about paint, plasti dip, ultimately the shop mentioned this scratch resistant material. Ran the corner of his wrench across the bumper then looked at me and said "try that with paint."

I was surprised how many flavors of black are available, obviously I preferred the CF.

Nice truck in this thread,I like everything about it except on thing. Those TRD emblems. Everyone seem to get all giddy about TRD for some reason that I cannot figure out

I've been in the performance market for many years and nothing about TRD USA has ever been very impressive to me. Maybe it is because Toyota has been missing a real performance car for a long time. Maybe it is because they provide very little if any aftermarket support. Maybe it is because their reps seem clueless. Maybe it is because they are several years behind everyone else in terms of special vehicle teams/performance.

Somehow, the badge is still impressive to others. I'm just one of those guys on the internet that does not get it. Nothing wrong with the TRD pro 4Runners... Just not a fan of TRD as a brand. I would de-badge if I got one. Shows how different all of us are. As they say, one mans trash is another mans treasure.

I think it looks better without them as well. Also, why are the TRD emblems located in different positions on each side?

Other than the CF and TRD emblems, I think the rig is phenomenal. Nice work!

They were spaced to allow addition of "Pro" . . . But decided against it, it's not a TRDP. As I originally mentioned I wanted to see if I could build my own TRDP, now I'm questioning why it was important to replicate. I'm really enjoying what I'm now calling my TEPP!

Any more mods planned? I was searching for Super White builds and I like the way your truck sits. Have you had a chance to get it off road yet? How did it perform? Any issues with the KDSS and the lift?

So 38.6 was your cost of the truck before the government crap?

Thats a good deal. You would be very hard pressed to buy that truck here in Denver for that price. Sellers market on the Trail.
