Put on a Tacoma shift knob. Some pics of it

i must be in the minority, but i have never given any thought to my shift knob. i've yet to see a reason to change it.

Here's is the leather Tacoma knob for reference. No modifications to the shifter. I love it compared to the stock knob.

The stock knob is the same one the Tundra has. It seems a bit large and awkward. Thanks for the post. I'll probably switch mine for the Taco version as soon as I can find a leather-wrapped one.

Just got a new Tacoma leather wrapped shift knob on eBay for $30 shipped. I think its an aftermarket one, because the leather doesn't come down as far as the factory ones I've seen. Regardless, it threaded on perfectly, the price was right, and I think it looks/feels much better than the factory one. I wish it was black instead of dark gray, but that can be fixed with some black leather dye.

Yeah, you know what they say about opinions. I'm not easily offended and I'll keep on modding. I figure if I get one compliment for every two or three criticisms I'm doing something right. Here's an update:

I've done plenty of work with leather dye, and the purple sheen wears off in a few days and leaves a nice flat black finish.

this is very helpful guys! I've been searching to replace my knob on TE since it is big, look and feel plastic. I will def. go for taco's knob as well. before I go for taco's knob, what do u think of FJ's knob that I saw in Amazon? thanks.
