putting a 01 radio/heater console on my 96'

i got a 96 but i like the console from the 01 (where the radio and A/C controls are), i was wondering if i get one from a junk, how hard would it be to put it on my 96? i know the controls are knobs and the 96' are sliding kind. plus itll match the 01 center consol i want to add

i'm not sure about the connection but if the fitting is good, then it could? but i'm not sure if it's possible or not.

I dunno how that would work because they have different kinds of controls and isnt the 01 electronic? I dont know if its realy possible.

The 96 and 97 4Runners have the HVAC which is mechanically controlled by slides and the 98-02 the 4Runners HVAC were electronically controlled.
