Q: Does OEM 2007-14 Tundra adj bed cleat fit in 3rd-gen 4Runner roof track?
A: Yes, but...
I measured it up because I was curious how much of the OEM stuff is compatible... so I figured I'd share the info.
The second/third-gen Tindra has awesome (cast metal?) bed cleats available that hold up to 220 lbs and would be a nice anchor point. Obviously I would only put the factory recommended limit up there evenly distributed, but I was curious if these awesome achor points would work since I had a 2014 Tundra home.
Third-gen 4Runner roof rack tracks measure 25 mm wide and 5 mm deep.
The Tundra cleats measure 25.5 mm wide and ~5 mm thick.
In short, they'd work but you'd have to trim the bottom just a hair (0.5 mm), and the width about 1 mm.
I'm curious about 5th gen 4Runner and Tacoma bed rail stuff now...
