Question about bleeding 2001 brakes

I'm getting all the parts together for a Tundra upgrade including speed bleeders and I have read 3-4 different write ups on the upgrade but... When I bleed the brakes on this model do I have to put the cap back on the master cylinder after every time I top it off or can I leave the cap off and just fill as needed? Also the key needs to be turned to "on" not running but "on" correct? I have bled motorcycles a bunch of times just never a car or truck.

After doing my TBU I just left the cap off and filled as needed (I lost a tiny tiny amount of fluid after pinching the lines). The speed bleeders will make a quick job out of bleeding the brakes.

As for the key, the on position is fine to initially bleed them. Once I had them bleed with the truck off, I did it again with it on. Probably didn't need to but with speed bleeders it was super easy. Whole process took me about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the reply, but I think the brake booster is different starting in 2000 or 2001, it uses a small pump for pressure. Or maybe I'm goofed up?

You're right. '99's bleed just fine with the key off, but not the newer ones. (I'm also not sure of the year.)
