question about the X-REAS Sport Enhancement Suspension

I'm thinking of getting a 4runner. I like the options and the look of the Sport Package but have a question...

X-REAS Sport Enhancement Suspension comes on the SPORT PACKAGE model ..does it ride stiffer than an SR5?

I've driven an 07 SR5 and was amazed how smooth the car was... in fact it was JUST as smooth over pavement as my dads GX470 is...(yes I know the cars are closely related) and I dont want a bone jarring ride that this X-REAS suspension might offer....

can anyone comment ?

Coming from both camps, my suggestion is to test drive both over the same test course, and maybe some speed bumps and long sweeping curves to compare the stiffness. The SR5 without x-reas is already a smooth ride, but hop into an x-reas equipped runner and body roll during cornering and nose dive during breaking is noticeably reduced. I drive both regularly and the difference is noticeble. No doubt though I do prefer the Sport. Is it stiffer? No doubt yes, but not to the point where it is uncomfortable. They are both trucks in the end and will always ride like trucks at some point. As an aside, I realized the true value of having x-reas while driving on the highway. Some idiot in some POS wannabe rice rocket broke into my lane abruptly and I had to juke out of his sorry ass' way. My SE stayed well planted flat as a pancake and I was like "Whoa, the x-reas does work as adverstised". Imho, the SE is also a great value for the price. My wife says she can't feel the difference but my glutes can.

x2 for test driving. Although everyone here can give you their opinions on the matter, it still comes down to your own preference. Everyone's experiences with Xreas will be different, so I suggest test driving both of them, one right after the other, and then make your decision based on how you felt about each of them.

now that I think about it... would anyone compare the X-REAS to the sport setting on an GX470 and the regular suspension more like the comfort setting on the lexus....

I will try to test drive them both....

I agree with dingos post since I also own both. I would say the SE has a more solid feel than my SR5. Granted my SR5 has 81k miles on it now and the SE has just over 2k. A good exaple is going over a speed bump the SE just seems to absorb it better than my SR5. I feel the SE has a better over ride than the SR5.

The SE package is a deal for what you get. I feel the tube steps & roof rack, hood scoop (I wish it was functional) and white lettered tires give it a more brawny appearance. Then through in the X-Reas to add the icing to the cake:biggrin2:
