Question on stock parking lights/DRL's after repair

Hello,
I have a 2004 4Runner Limited with DRL's. I had an accident where I rear-ended someone, so I had a lot of front end work done.

After the repair, I notice that when the headlights are on (in auto mode), the front parking lights (DRL's are not on).

When the headlights are off, the parking lights/DRL's do come on. Is that the way they are supposed to be?

I thought the parking lights (amber lights in front bumper) were always on whether headlights were on or not. Turn signals work fine.

Am I incorrect?

You know, I thought they stayed on as well, but every image I found on the internet actually shows them off when the headlights are on... hmm. If I can remember, I'll check during lunch to see what mine does.

Thanks. I could have sworn they stayed on when headlights were on. The fog/driving lights are switched. But I thought the DRL's stayed on with headlights. When my fog lights are off, the bumper looks weird with no amber lights on.

Yep, I verified this during lunch. I snapped a pic, but you know what it looks like. Don't really feel like going through the trouble to upload it, since I don't have a "lightning" connector here at work.

Thanks Superman. So just to clarify....DRL's are on only when actual headlights are off. When headlights come on (mine are auto), DRL's in bumper shut off?
