Questions about ARB twin compressor

So ARB suggests that a hose not be direct connected to their compressor due to the output temperature in excess of 300°.

So the question is this: is it true in real experience? Do I need a manifold as they suggest?

Ever put your hand on an airline connected directly to the compressor?

I know on my York install on my Jeep, I melted a couple of hoses connected to the compressor. I ended up using an AC line to the manifold then a hose from there.

Even on my Vi-air compressor, I ordered a steel braided hose to help dissipate the heat before connecting to the hose.
