Questions about the FJ coil conversion and spacers

I am so frusterated! I have called every place in Austin that has anything to do with lifting a vehicle and no one will even do a leveling kit on my 4runner with XREAS. As you all know I wanted to do the FJ Coils and top plate spacer but I couldnt find anyone to help me install it. So I went back to my original idea of just putting a leveling kit on in and be done with it. However I still cant get anyone to touch my car because it has XREAS..... :wtf:

Shops don't want to be liable for a systems that costs a few grand to replace. I see their point, but if you don't disconnect the lines you almost can't mess it up. Maybe, just maybe, you can find someone willing to help you do the install yourself. Sorry to hear you're having so many difficulties, but IMO it'll be worth it for the upgrade.

I dont understand what the difference is between installing a leveling kit like a Daystar and swaping the coils/adding spacer.... in the end isnt it pretty much the same thing? Im just lifting it a little... or does it have more to do with the install than the final outcome? Stupid XREAS......

To rub it in even more the UPS man just dropped off my Toytec spacers, I now have everything I need to do the install and I have the next 3 days off work to sulk about not being able to install

To a point, there is no difference. The coils add maybe 10-15 minutes per side to the install time, if that. Wish I could help you out, just no way for that to happen though. Click here, and go through the various pages of listings. You'll have to look because not all are off road shops, but there are several listed. I'd spend some time on the phone and see what you can get done.

Crawled under my car, my XREAS is leaking on front passenger and back driver, looks like Bilstein5100s are going to need to be ordered. If I buy those I won't need the 1/2" top plate spacer I ordered anymore right?

Right. I'd be looking into shock options, the Bisteins have been getting good reviews, and I like the adjustments. The Bilstein's set on .85" and FJ springs all around makes a great combo, someone here has it (can't remember who at the moment).

Where is a good place to order the 5100s from?
Once I take XReas out, will the dash light stay on the whole time?

seems like their back ordered alot. maybe try wheelers offroad, call or chat. Bilstein 5100 Front and Rear Shocks from Wheeler's Off-Road, Inc

Does anyone have directions on how to remove XREAS? I found a shop that will take out the XREAS and install the Bilstein5100s and FJ coils for me, they just weren't sure what all the XREAS removal would entail.

There are no dash lights associated with xreas system. Does anyone have 5100s in stock? I though they were on backorder everywhere.

Yeah I think you are right. I can't find them anywhere! Tire rack had the fronts but not the rears, that was the closest I got. I also noticed that when searching it keeps saying the 5100's only fit on the 1990-1995 years. But they should fit on my 2005 right? Are there anyother adjustable shocks like the 5100s? Now I am in a hurry to get this fixed because I have to drive from Austin to Denver in a few weeks....

Rancho "quick lift"... I have not seen any feedback and know little other than they work the same way.

Check shockwarehouse.com and just google the part numbers.
When I bought mine they were out if stock "everywhere." I ended up finding 3 places by googling the p/n and had em on my truck within 4 days (and at a good price) Just make sure you call or email first to make certain they're in stock.
