Questions for a Toyota Salesman?

That electric power steering on the RAV is not perfect, there are a few post stating that it sometimes over heat and shuts down the power steering.

I wonder if the 4runner tranny is different than the Highlander's or a tougher version of it...then this would explain why it does not need one???

That's a good point. I'd assume it's a different transmission. Supposedly, Toyota says it doesn't need a tranny cooler for anything under 5000 lbs..

OK, that makes sense. Instead of a belt running the power steering motor, it uses electricity. So, it still is rack and pinion steering, but it has a differently power steering.

I remember when we did not have power steering, power brakes, power windows or air conditioning.

I special ordered a 4R and it just came in this week. I am getting my sister's employee discount and wanted to know if family members or employees for that matter get a special rate if they finance through Toyota or any of the banks that Toyota goes through? Not to boast, but I have excellent credit. I want to pick it up soon, but I am still looking for the right interest rate. I was approved for a loan but don't know if that is the one I want to go with. Any thoughts???

Don't know about San Antonio but toyota (in So. Cal.) currently has a $1500 rebate or special financing program 3.9% for 5 years, 2.9% and 1.9% for subsequent shorter terms.

3.9% at 5 years, man I would be all over that! I was approved for a new car loan at 6.35% and really don't want to pay that high an interest rate. I am supposed to speak with the finance manager today to see what sort of rates they have to offer.

I'm sure that all the other dealers in your region have the same offer.
