Quick question about tranny cooler install

Hey so this might be a dumb question probably is, I just picked up the 70628 and about to do the install this weekend. I've been mulling over the diy to make sure i dont screw anything up.
I've got some quick questions.

First, following, TRD Transmission Cooler - 3rd Gen 4Runner - YotaTech Forums
It says to disconnect the return line, the line that carries the fluid from the radiator back to the transmission, I'm guessing since it passes the radiator this fluid is cooled.

After disconnecting im routing hoses from transmission to the 70628 and then from the 70628 to the radiator. Again this is the return line the one that carries the fluid from the radiator to the tranny.

If that's all right... that doesn't make sense, if the cooler in the radiator already cools the fluid why would i need to send it to the cooler again.... or am I just super confused and not understanding something.

No. From the transmission to the 70628 and from the 70628 to the transmission. You bypass the radiator cooler entirely.

Typically people are bypassing the cooler inside the radiator to avoid the Pink Milkshake. If you are trying to add cooling capability to your rig for heavy towing or something, then you would typically have the fluid go from tranny to radiator, radiator to aux cooler, and aux cooler to tranny.

Ohhhh Ok I'm just trying to save myself from the pink milkshake besides living in minnesota and not towing I dont need extra cooling.

So my routing option would be to undo the send line from the radiator and put it in the cooler and then the cooler to the transmission for the return line.

Yes.

If you are mounting with both barbs pointed upwards it won't matter, but if they are to the side, make sure the inlet is on the bottom of the cooler, the outlet is on the top.

Not sure it matters, but I can understand why b&m recommends this. Could potentially trap air in the system if the inlet is at the top.

Just to clarify...

Send line to lower inlet barb on the cooler, outlet of the cooler to the transmission return line.
