Quick Reference Guide For Off Road Controls

I tried 3 different browsers and my phone and the other images aren't showing up on any of them.

Chrome, Edge, Brave and android Brave.

I'll try my wife's iPhone when she gets home and let you know if it works on safari there.

I finished cleaning up the Reference Guide. I’ll try to repost the pictures later today and see if that helps. If you want to DM me your email I’ll send you the word file.

Try it now Nyvram. I think you should be able to see them now. If you want the word doc DM or anyone else for that matter just DM me. I’ll see if I can put it up on Google Docs later.

Whats with the constant mention of front wheel drive? lol. Also, no way its a good thing to change the truck to 4H while still moving. Nevermind up to 50MPH!! that sounds like a catastrophe waiting to happen!

It's fine moving but I thought it was 40 mph max.

Per the manual: you don't have to be in neutral to shift from 2h to 4h; but your speed should be < 55mph while shifting

Yeah well I doubt my transfer case would agree with that but mega corporation engineers and their owners have greedy agendas to tend to. I rarely go over 40 in 4h unless I feel like getting crazy. Yes you can be in gear to shift but I always let off the gas kinda like a manual tranny shift. Hopefully it'll last forever!

Lexington, Nice work!

You inspired me with your great work. Here's an interpretation of your draft, separated into your Type A and Type B, for your consideration.

truth be told, i was just having fun with Powerpoint. Good to give my skillset a workout once in a while.

Hope you feel better, compadre!

big daddy & lexington; doesn't the "TRAC OFF" and the other skid control light also turn on and stay on when in 4LO? nitpicking but your guide seems to indicate only the 4LO light comes on when successfully engaged and that might lead someone (like me!) to believe something is wrong.

Nyvram. No apology necessary. Constructive criticism is welcomed. This was the whole purpose of my post. To get feedback from the community to make sure my info was correct and add anything I missed.

I did write it at the bottom but I excluded the picture. This is because I didn’t have enough room to include it. I sized this reference guide so it will fit in that mostly useless spot for the tissue box. So I only included what I thought was most important. Most of the information is copied directly from the manual but I modified some of it to make it fit my format. But that’s why I also wrote on the bottom, “More info can be found in your Owner’s Manual on page ______. You’re suppose to write or use a label make to put the page number in so if you need more info you can find the page quickly.

Anyway I can improve the wording that the slip icon and Trac Off icon will appear.

I can adjust my version with any picture/wording updates you'd like add. :usa2:

Wording might be enough; just thinking out loud:

When L4 is correctly engaged you will see three lights above the green 4WD icon; 4LO, SLIP OFF and TRAC OFF.

My bad, I thought you were being disgenous. Most if not all 4x4 systems can be shifted from 2hi to 4hi while moving.

I have been on wayyyy to many forums to try and be sarcastic. i found there are always people who are wittier than you. So in the end, i choose to try and not look stupid. LOL!

Only genuine questions from me!!

Nyvram, I played around with it and I found a way to add the Slip Off and Trac Off icons photos. I sent it to Bigdaddy and he is going to use his graphic arts magic and make a final version.

Just fyi, sent the full version to you a few days back. Look forward to seeing if it's what you were envisioning. :)

I apologize if this was already mentioned somewhere but are you guys planning on posting a link to the final version? I would love a copy ...
