Ok does anyone know what if any radio with the nav and everything (persay the entune) will work from a 2012 in a 2011 4 runner I want to upgrade and right now I have the standard unit ( dont know if there are different units but mine has bluetooth party mode and ipod hook up if that helps and I would like to stay with a unit that uses the toyota controls) I dont believe it has a sub. I want to keep the stock look but the toyota dealers 3 different ones that I have talked to said I would have to have a vin# as if they cant find one lol at The dealership. and that it would be like 2k for the unit that I can't send back. Anyone that has changed out there unit Help Please. I like the functions of the entune but if there is something better out there I am open to suggestions for that as well!

Unfortunately there is no easy cheap way.
Even for me who has the older JBL navigation unit. Its not so simple.
For me, I was told by an installer that 2 things might not work, HD Radio < you need a special antenna. Second would be the bluetooth. In addition, the wiring harness is different. I'm sure it would be even more complicated for a non JBL retrofit.
I was just looking at some aftermarket navigations today in fact. Pioneer makes some nice ones. While it's not OEM and that does suck, its really the better cheaper option.
The tech also told me that I would A. have to buy the new unit (2k), B. Pay for their services even if it does not work out.

Just go aftermarket! Much, much better nav, sound quality, features, everything! It doesn't even matter if you go with Pioneer, Sony, Alpine or any other brand. Only thing you lose out on is the factory look. Factory stuff from Toyota is about as bad as it gets.

I just might, at least I will have dual zone control .
My issue is I would not be able to use the OEM microphone, in my opinion it's really clear and superior to aftermarket mics. Also , would I be able to use the same back up cam? And will it work as smooth and as quick when switching to reverse ?

If you are willing to wire things up, you should be able to use the factory backup camera and might be able to use the factory mic. You should at least be able to mount the after-market mic in the overhead console in place of the factory mic. Both are wired into the overhead console.
The factory mic goes through equalization, separate from the radio and I don't know if (1) the equalizer output is compatible and (2) if the equalization will still work with an after-market radio
