Radio Stays On After Ignition Off

What the heck is going on? -- Recently (past couple of weeks), when I turn the ignition off, the radio stays on...even when taking the key out. It takes up to a couple of minutes to turn off, and during that time, the key fob becomes unresponsive.

The only battery/electrical work was installing an amp/speakers to the factory headunit -- which was done by tacotunes in San Antonio -- all parts were plug-n-play, so no factory wires were modified for the install.

Any ideas?

If it worked fine before the install at tacotunes I would take it back there.

Who told you what they did was 100 percent plug and play? Unless you saw the wiring harnesses, components, and connections, I would take the installer's word with a grain of salt.

Take it back to them.

Nope. Sure doesn't. Usually I have to turn the ignition back on and off a couple of times - if I don't want to wait the extra minute it takes to turn off on its own.

If it worked fine before the install at tacotunes I would take it back there.

Agree. I emailed them first because I'm in Dallas and they're in San Antonio. Figured I'd try to see if this wasn't related to the install and someone else was experiencing something similar -- road trip coming up

Tacotunes sells complete plug-n-play solutions for toyota. I had all the wiring harnesses in hand and was going to do the install myself. All the instructions and wiring provided did seem to be a simple plug-n-play -- i just got lazy and decided to take a weekend trip down to San Antonio (with the wife) while tacotunes did the install.

Here's the amp kit I bought (also got all new speakers and subs):

overall the install and sound are nice... maybe something is amiss with the harness -- hmm.

Try just unhooking the remote turn on wire at the amp. Sounds like the amp has signal sense turn on, and they hooked the remote wire up back feeding acc power. Tape it up so it doesn't short out.
The terminal on the amp should be labeled REM, generally. What's the model number of the amplifier?

right......something is backfeeding into the ignition lead. Just need to see how they have it connected to the amp. My guess is that the turn on circuit of the amp is bad and you may need them to swap. Simple test is to disconnect the amp's power cable or turn on lead and see if it persists.

I had this issue on my Tundra once before. We found it was a bad ground... or so i think
