Radio turning off and on????? What??

I got in my '06 this afteroon and the radio display was not on but it was playing music, then cd's started coming out. Then the display came on. It quite but 30 minutes later on my way home I hit the brakes a couple times and the radio turned off then right back on. ( I don't know though if the brakes were related, I wouldn't see how) ANy ideas???? HELP!?!?!?

Then the problem is with this IC located on the rear of the front panel. It contains the display driver and the interfaces for all the front panel buttons.

This IC appears to be heat sensitive and there doesn't seem to be a way to heat sink it.

My radio has been doing that too! Sometimes it has a display but its all garbled. Its totally random.

My non-JBL radio was doing that so I took it to toyota since it was still under warranty. They said it was a common problem and installed a new "upgraded" radio. It looks the same, sounds the same but should last longer is what I was told. If it was not under warranty I would've simply put in a nice navi unit.

Typical toyota radio problems. (Happens in new tundras and tacomas as well) I have an 08' and this already happened to me. Simply took it in to the dealership and they wrote down some numbers got a new radio in and swapped them out. Its a pretty simple fix.

I had my zero mileage '08 off of the lot for 20 minutes, stopped at a UPS store to ship something, and when I fired her back up the LCD filled left to right with black boxes and it ejected the CD I was listening to.

No joke, 20 minutes. I was back at the dealership 35 minutes after leaving with my first problem...

The unit shown above is made by Matsushita (Panasonic) and the issue is that the IC is heat sensitive. I do not believe this to be a soldering problem.

What genre music were you people with radio problems listening to?
I hear country music and many types of rap music (lil wayne, lady gaga and the like) causes the radios to commit suicide to prevent repeat instances of such "music."
