Yes. Everything is stock except the headunit, and no issues.

Xtrons, Seicane, Dasaita, Pumpkin, OttoNavi, etc etc, they are all the same thing, just different brands (same person dressed in different clothes).

I like the Seicane only b/c they give you options (camera, OBDII, etc etc) on their website. I would also suggest one get an Android 8.0 or higher OS. They seem to be OEM fast (better). I've seen units from $150 to $300 (depending on how many options you want such as cameras, OBDII, etc).

I hope to upgrade my radio in the coming months.

This is partially true. All the brands are just resellers and these units are made by several manufacturers. Multiple manufacturers will make essentially identical units. Not all the brands carry the same inventory and there is certainly differences in performance based on chipsets and ram.

I didn't know the dash was different based on factory radio...

My SR5 V6 has non-JBL radio, no nav, no steering wheel controls, no cd changer. The failing volume knob randomly adjusts volume up or down, regardless of the direction I rotate it. So thinking about replacing it with a Pioneer AVH-2440NEX or a generic Android unit.

metra 95-8202 is the kit you will need to install a double din.

make sure to get the bypass to make use of all feature for the radio, some functions will not work without it, also dont watch movie while driving.

I have an SR5, no steering wheel controls, and a Pioneer single DIN currently, so I was leaning toward the Bestkits do to the fact that it not only looks good, but has the brackets which I don’t have. Do they have a version that will work for my SR5, or is it only for the Limiteds?

The best kits is only for the JBL equipped radios. If you don’t have that you’ll have to go with something else. It fits any model equipped with the JBL thkuthough; ours is as sport.

I agree. I have noticed SOME units that are identical in appearance do have some small differences. It would be interesting to find out which units have the "better" specs. Because they change so often (about 8 months, something is new), it's tough to gauge it. Also, some units offer (cool) options (like HD TV, tire pressure monitoring, etc.......... having this said, it depends if the headunit comes with extra input to later install these options. From what I understand, most/all Android head units are customizable which make them so attractive (compared to products like Pioneer, Alpine, etc offer).

I want to say that if one goes with the Android 8.0 or higher, they are set. Start up times have been reduced significantly (which was the primary complaint) and reliability seems to be a non issue.

I would recommend getting a unit with 4gb of ram,fits the stock opening, and is plug and play. There are several options from what I saw depending on what you are looking for (addons, button layout...).

Awesome! I've heard of this forum, great amount of info. I've endured the OEM NAV for years (I'm a stickler for all things factory), but the lack of features is getting very boring. Anyway, I don't care for "soft buttons only", I HAVE to have some hard buttons and a volume knob.................. call me old, LOL.

got a picture of your current radio thats in?

if you cant source brackets for the radio, you can use the 99-8300 kit

if you can source out the radio brackets , 95-8202 will work, only for base radio opening.

I would HIGHLY recommend going the Chinese Android HU route...way more customizatiom than anything sold over here at a cheaper price to boot. I ran one for ~2 years...had zero issues and it looked OEM. My HU was older so based of Android 4.x and only had 1gb ram and still no issues/lagging while using my 1tb External HD in Poweramp and Waze, Spotify, etc. As already stated, the newer units should be even better. Im only replacing mine to go with a CarPC setup.

I'll be sure to post some pics here and do a writeup in my build thread. In short though, I hadn't seriously considered one given the cost until I ran across an E3IO double din CarPC on Ebay ( Car Tuning CarPC SE | Custom Car Computers | CarPC | Custom Computers | Desktop PC | Carputer | Gaming PC ). Mine is the full size, and at 8" deep, it won't fit depth-wise in our dash. So, I'm deciding between using a more reasonable 9.7" Ipad LCD as it would sit in the double din area (just taller) or going extreme and using an old laptop 15.4" LCD (vertical Tesla style) with a capacitive touch screen overlay for controls on the dash and I'll simply mount the PC somewhere in the cargo area.

the metra 99-8300 is like 30 bucks and has everything.
i dont know how much the brackets cost, but if you can source them it might be the same, it might work better.

i just didnt like how it look when i did the single din with pocket, it just made my radio too deep in the opening.

nice metra kit you have, i had a loose trim ring with mines during the iso mount, just too much gapping, so i switched to the bestkits / american international.

Awesome, thanks for the part numbers! Yeah, the fit is spot on with the current radio. I didn’t do the install, so I can’t take credit for it (came with the truck when I bought it). I’m just hoping they used a harness kit and didn’t cut any wires since I haven’t taken it apart to see how it was installed yet. Honestly, it is a nice stereo with Bluetooth so it streams my iTunes and phone functionality is perfect, but I just want the DD for backup camera. Not a super necessity, but would make life easier for hooking up my boat trailer. I’ve also been pretty jealous of the Sony CarPlay unit I recently installed in my Daughter’s Camry. That has some really nice features, especially the nav mirroring.
