I have heard good reviews about CG too. But i have yet to try them.

While I am a bit brand loyal,
most of it is technique and finding out where you make the most straches. believe it or not most of the possible scratches occur when you dry the car. People think oh i Have a MF towel, its not going to scratch. well if there is dirt on the car and you dry the car it will scratch.
I rinse my car on a gravel drive way, So I learned rinse on the top, and dont get the hose aimed at the lower portion of the car. If you do, then dirt will bounce up from the ground to the car, and then you are wiping a MF with dirt in it, and it becomes sand paper.
I highly recommend, if you are in a rush deal with the water spots than deal with the swrils. Or if you have to use a automatic car wash, don't let them dry your car or apply anything by hand.
biggest thing I like to do is use a quick detailer spray as a waterless wash after I have washed my car. I always find my towels to be filled with dirt even though I just washed my car. quick detail spray can get expensive, so just find a concentrate and use that.
Youtube how to waterless wash and follow that technique for drying..
edit another big thing is dont use any towels from autozone, especially any of their wash mits. Go to amazon and buy CG's washmit. while they may look the same if you hold them you will feel how much heavier pile the CG's washmit has.
