So after doing much research, I purchased a spoiler from spoilerdepot.com....It arrives, looks great and really done professionally.
I call a couple of body shops, and they don't seem too interested...so I figure I would try my local dealer. I take the 4Runner up there with the spoiler in the back. Tell the assistant service manager what I have. I ask him to look at the spoiler so he knows what I have....he said no need to, we'll be glad to install it....make the appt.
Arrive 10 minutes early on Thursday...drop it off, and walk across the street to piddle around and what not. Come back 45 minutes later and notified the guys that I was back in the waiting room. 10 minutes later the same asst service manager comes back and says they feel uncomfortable putting in an aftermarket spoiler.
Needless to say, my head was about to explode. I told him this was the sole reason that I personally came up there to make the appt last week, and that is why I wanted him to look at the spoiler. He was just kind of dumbfounded....
He did kind of redeem himself though...he went and found me a local installer of spoilers....this guys job is just installing spoilers. He installs 80 a month, and makes house calls. SO, he's coming out Monday evening to do it...and half of what the dealer was going to charge.
