Rattle Can Gloss Coating?

So, the paint is really fading/peeling on my Runner...mainly on the roof and hood. I was wondering if anyone tried applying a clear, gloss coat with rattle can spray to help prevent further deterioration of the paint. Any cons to doing this? I'm not willing to dish out $$$ for a new paint job.

You will probably have to wet sand and polish it afterwards to get a decent consistent finish. You could also buy a cheap HVLP gun from harbor freight and some automotive clear locally all for less than 100 bucks and get a better finish.

I think that would be a bad idea. A better option would be to clean, polish and then wax it with some good stuff. Put 2-3 layers on. This is some of the longest lasting wax I have used. It will last 3-4 times longer than the stuff in the local auto stores. Autogeek is a great company to buy from too.

Collinite Liquid Insulator Wax #845, liquid wax, heat-resistant wax, car wax

Thanks for the info guys! I will stick with the heavy duty wax for now.
