Real World MPG with 5th Gen?

I am stuck on 18.9. I keep trying to get myself above that 19.0 mark but bad driving habits keep weighing me down.

I'm finding this MPG monitoring is a lot like owning one of those Fitbit trackers...

I just don't trust the onboard computers to represent actual MPG. Best method is to just reset your odo when you fill up, drive around until you're almost empty. Once you fill up the 4R, divide the gallons needed vs the mileage you drove and bam, true MPG!

I average about 17 2016 sr5 premium. Do quite a bit of town driving.

Over the last month/2k miles I've averaged 20.5 mpg overall.

About 50/50 city/hwy.

I'm stock and just drove 811.8 km (504.4 miles) on 76.406 L (20.18 gallons). That's 9.41 L/100km (24.99 mpg). That's was about 20% city and 80% hwy. The Hwy portion was my travel to and from work. It's only two lanes and speed was 90-95km/h (56-59 mph).

I wouldn't make a habit of running it that low on fuel if I were you. You're gonna put your fuel pump through hell

It's just something I do after the break in period is over. I've done it with my Taco and previous vehicles as well. I was happy to see 11 L (3 gallons) remained.

2015 Limited 2WD, 10K miles. Drove 450 miles, 70-78 mph average, A/C always on, 25% hills with 2 passengers and averaged 21.8 mpg.

I'll need to grab the official numbers, but I've recently replaced the original Bridgestone OEM tires with Cooper A/T3s P rated in the stock 265/70/17 size on OEM Trail Rims.

My 4Runner is a 2012 TE 100% stock and I've watched my gas mileage take a fairly significant hit in the 2mpg ball park. I was getting around 18.5 with a mix of mostly highway (50 mile round trip commute) and some city and now I'm seeing about 16.5 with the same mix of driving.

I've also noticed the truck needing to shift down a bit more since getting the new tires.

For what it's worth the stock OEM tires according to Bridgestones site weigh in at about 40lbs. The Cooper A/T3s P rated in stock size are 41lbs

Just fueled up my 2012 SR5 all stock besides BFG KO2 (stock size C rated) after 270 miles driving on back roads (winding west coast mountain roads) 55-15mph and 3 miles steep hill climb at 5mph. The average calculated was 21.1mph. I like it a lot.

2016 Trail Edition, stock everything, running boards (wife's idea, don't ask). 4,500 miles on the odometer (going up daily).

80% highway driving in light traffic, summer blend top tier E10 87 octane fuel, average speed over the course of the fill up / trip odo reset of 40 mph. I drive 90% of the time. We average 20.3 MPG per the car's trip computer, but doing the math fill-up to fill-up it's spot on 18.80 - 18.93 MPG every time.

I drove it once on a 90 mile round trip all highway and the fuel economy indicator was spot on 21.2 MPG. But that's just myself, cruise control on a flat highway at 75mph, zero traffic on a warm and humid afternoon (95f w/60% humidity) with the A/C on. No kid, no wife, no cargo, started with a full tank of fuel.

Best I've ever seen was 23 MPG when I commuted on the 55mph speed limited state highway with very few stoplights that runs parallel with the interstate.
