Real World MPG with 5th Gen?

Just got back from a 2450 mile trip from Seattle to Cody and back through YNP and GTNP - got 22.4 on the computer and about the same my calculations.
I am thrilled.
My truck is a bone stock 2015 SR5.

Any AT tire even in a C rating, is going to affect the rolling mass over an all weather tire like the factory Dunlops. You just have more rubber mass and weight to roll.

For comparison:
Factory 265 Duelers are 8.3" tread width on 8" wheel & 39 lbs ea.
KO2 265 C are 10.7" tread width on 8" wheel & 45.7 lbs ea.
KO2 275 E are 11" tread width on 8" wheel & 57.9 lbs ea.

Will you see a drop in mpg going from Dumb Duelers to C load KO2s (or any other A/T tire), of course. Part of that is weight, part is additional friction from tread width (and pattern), both increase rolling resistance.
Between the different size KO2's, the difference in tread width isn't enough to make a noticeable dent in mpg. However, those extra ~10 lbs per tire are. I would wager that the 265 C's would save ~0.25-0.5 mpg over the 275 E's. Of course city vs highway driving would make a difference too, bigger savings in city driving over highway(stop/go, accelerating that extra mass).

Funny I just got back from a long trip, averaged about 16.5, the to and from the east coast on the highways were about 14. But my mileage drops when I go over 75mph given all the mods. I average around 18 normally!

2012 SR5 33k miles (bought it used in 2013 with 24k in it), all factory stock (including stock Bridgestone tires :barf: ).

Commuting 55 miles total 100 minutes every day I'm getting 20.5 mpg (driving with ECO light all the time :crazy

I am surprised that this 4 litter V6 drinks less than my 2.7 litter I4 in my 95 Tacoma 4x4 (on the same route to my office I got 19.5mpg in Tacoma)

My wife drove 4R for the first 2 years using it as a shopping cart and add total 5k miles to the clock (yep, less than 7 miles per day on average including myltiple trips to SFO) and the fuel meter showed 15.5 mpg.

Real usage on the trip from Sacramento to SFO and back (99% highway at 70m/h most of the time with one slow down ad Bay Bridge) was 23 mpg.

50% Hwy / 50% stop and go.... Low avg 19.5 .... High avg 20.5... So split it and call it an even 20mpg for argument sake. I'm pretty easy on the pedal most of the time tho... It's a Runner, not my 848 Streetfighter!

I just did my first fill up in my 2015 TEP. I manually calculated 19.6 MPG. Not bad considering there's only a couple of hundred miles on it so far. Mixed driving, and quite conservative on the throttle. I'm coming from a 4-banger 5spd mtx Frontier....

Nah lol almost flat roads. Just long straight aways and few lights zero traffic. I get up to speed slowly and crews at speed lightly accelerating when needed.

2011 4Run-Ltd, 69800 miles. Just returned from a week in Nashville, TN from New Orleans, LA, averaged out at 20.2-mpg on the ride up, mostly between 75-80mph, using regular Chevron with 10% eth....but it fell too 19.7-mpg on the ride back yesterday practically at the same speed, and route. Forgot to add I usually use cruise-control on trips like this.

My MPG on the dash says 18.4, my best calculated mileage was 20.1 on the interstate.

ODO says 2320 when I got home last night, after watching my Tigers beat the Gators.

Would love to be getting good fuel economy like you guys!!
On a TRD with a roof rack in averaging 17, hand calculated. But this is about 90% city driving. On my road trip to Maryland I was averaging 18 @ 85 mph average

After 7,000km, I'm getting 15 L/100km, or about 19MPG. It ain't great, but it's better than my old LR3 and it's the regular stuff instead of premium



Btw, that's in mixed driving, prob 30% city and 70% highway.

These are crazy numbers! In my 2012 TE I'm lucky if I get through a tank @ 17.5 with typical driving conditions. Could a 2 inch lift be the difference here?
