Real World MPG with 5th Gen?

towing my 4400lb travel trailer at 60 mph I get 13 mpg

With the lift, lightbar, rack, bigger tires, I get about 16-17 hwy and like 14.5-15 in the city.

after installing the tires, i thought my acceleration would decrease significantly. It actually increased but my mpg dropped to 13.3 mpg based off the fill up right the gas light turned on until the next gas light divided by miles driven (mixed hwy and city).

Now, recalculating but slowly accelerating to see if i can bring the mpg up.

2014 TE, eco light freaked me out so I turned it off, slightly overinflated Michelin LTXs, and Borla cat-back (If it makes a difference). 21.3 (about 50% highway)

some of these mileages are ridiculous. my gauge reads 17.8 avg and my 4r is stock.

I have a 2013 Cadillac CTS AWD 3.0 V6 that averages 17.9. Most of the 4R numbers I'm reading in this thread sound good to me. I'd be much happier getting 17.8 in a Runner than the same in this small 4 dr sedan.

21.1 on my last fill up mostly hwy (55-80mph) but I am applying about as much pressure as a leaf on the peddle upon accel.

One leg of a late September trip to Yellowstone two weeks ago, I averaged 22.987 MPG (24.0 displayed and 22.987 hand calc'd) over a 360.4 mile stretch, uphill. That was from Boise City, OK to Cheyenne, WY.

I was loaded, running BFG AT T/A KO's 265/70-17 @ 45 PSI @ 75 MPH using cruise when traffic allowed.

Now some will say "Oh, yeah I got 30 mpg for 6 miles out of my driveway". BFD, who cares, right? This was over 360 miles @ 75 mph. I was impressed. Yes, 75 was the speed limit. It felt slow compared to the 80 mph limits North and West of Cheyenne.

My lifetime average with this same setup is 19.402 mpg actual hand calculated. Mostly in town mixed miles.

16.5 MPG average on stock 4runner TRD Pro for its first 5000 miles. Probably half of those were either 1) Towing, 2) Off Pavement, 3) Towing Off Pavement so its not too surprising.

I've been tracking mine since February 2015 and have averaged 15.71mpg. It's been 50/50 highway/city. I have a 3" OME suspension and 265/70/R17 "E" rated Michelin LTX M/S2's. There has been a few thousand miles of towing 3500-5500lbs which knocked my average pretty badly (11-13mpg). I calculated it by recording mileage and gallons and doing some maths. I hate maths.

I use Fuelly, and I'm currently averaging 18 mpg. Best mpg is 19.5. KO2s 275/70/17 E rated

K&N drop in, charcoal filter delete....the rest is stock TRDP, 18.3 average and I do an even mix of city and highway miles.....City all week, highway all weekend.

It's my wife's DD and she drives it like she stole it. Hard acceleration from stop (can't let anyone beat her off the line); keeps her foot on the gas until she has to brake. Vast majority of the time she's either on the gas or on the brake; no coasting. When I crank it up it's almost always between 17-18mpg

I can get between 23-24mpg in a mix of city and highway driving with great care, or on long highway trips. About 22-23 with just normal driving. It tanks when offroading or if I get stuck in rush-hour. This is all with the on-board calculator; if we ever swap back so it's my daily driver and I do every fill up I'll bother to hand calc more accurately.
