Dude!.... I hope everyone walked away from this with minimal scratches or injuries?.. what's the story? and what did the other side of that impact looks like?

Okki

The other side ran a very extra red light in a BMW. Having better things to do Mr. BMW retired to the Best Western two blocks away (as far as the BMW could go). Mr. BMW must have been quite excited, because he exited his perforated douche-mobile for a little jog immediately thereafter. Note to douchey-night joggers in Springfield VA: the cops have lots of toys that they seldom get to use; therefore, Mr. BMW had the quick company of 1 helicopter and two German Shepherds. I retreated to the ER for a quick series of X-Rays (I think my nuts are still glowing), and Mr. BMW was awarded a pair of silver bracelets and a sassy orange jumper (perhaps a little early in the Spring for an Orange Jumper - but then again, you are douchey Mr. BMW).

A little sore, but happy to be ok after having crawled out the sun roof (all James Bond bad-ass like) in an effort to avoid a growing pool of motor oil, gasoline, and I think just a splash of vinegar.

Gotta get another I suppose if I'm going to keep up my membership.

Sorry to read about your mishap Doc.:wow:

Good to see they didn't hurt your sense of humor!
One of those dent repair places should fix it right up.:D

Jesus man...very glad you're ok. That looks like a horrific accident. Hope douche BMW guy gets what he deserves.

Glad your OK, Doc. That's all that really matters anyways...:)

Kind of you to say and all really is ok, except now all I have to take to Ducmonsta's shop party is a Menthol scented Camry. This is going to be just like prom again, well..except I wont be going with mom.

glad you're safe man.

looks like the 4runner did a good job absorbing the impact.

fronts smashed up but the rest of the body/cabin looks like it remains intact.

Ouch. Glad you are ok. I'm assuming they will consider it totaled.

I'm waiting to hear, but everyone who has seen it has said it is gone-gone. Beyond the visible damage, there really is a lot of oil soaked into the interior and I'm pretty sure I left a poopie somewhere inside.

I think its gonna need paint at a minimum:

1Engineer: How come the bumper is still in place yet everything above it is wrapped back? With a low slung BWM (assuming it was not an X series) you would expect the bumper beam to take more of the hit?

Okki

The car is usually totaled if the repair cost is more then 60% of the market value of the car. Could be different in other regions.

I've never completely totaled a car. What happens to it? Can you keep it and sell undamaged parts?

Some states let give the owner the right to salvage. This means you can buy the car for the "salvage" value, which is calculated based on some arcane formula that I think is written in aramaic. I bought back a totaled Toyota PU I had once for $800. It ran, but had a bent frame. I kind looked like it was crab-walking down the street. After a few years I traded it for an AR-15. Then I realized I didn't know anything about guns and this was a gun I probably shouldn't have so I worked a deal on some camera equipment.

That is probably more than you needed to know...but somewhere in there I think I answered part of your question.

I'll jump in so he can prove me wrong... Hahah

The bumper did take the impact but it doesn't seem that bad because it's very rigged since it is right on the frame. For the upper front damage, the truck dipped during impact as he was slamming the brakes and the forces pushed it even lower.

Ouchie. I'm glad your okay, reminds me of my 98 that I totaled at 65 MPH, and walked away without a scratch.

Do you know how fast you were going when Mr. BMW Douche decided to be a idiot?

Oh and could I have your tires and rims?!
