Rear armrest rattle

Anyone else have this? It got to the point where the rear center armrest/cup holder had about 1/2 of back and forth play. It was clacking and rattling over every bump, in either the up or down position. So I dug into it today.

On the passenger side, with the armrest in the down position, you can pry the plastic cover aside and see what looks like a hex head to tighten the assembly. It was so loose I could turn it with my fingers. I couldn't get the hinge cover off, nor get an Allen wrench in there, some used a pair of needle nose vice grips to tighten it up. Like new again.

Hope that helps someone who has suffered with this.

I have an annoying noise coming from the arm rest connecting to the seat. The metal latch that connects the arm rest to the seat. Metal to metal and the dealer said that they fixed but they did not. I do not have time to take it back right now. Therefore, I will leave it down and I do not get the annoying sound when going over bumps. It sound like you have a different problem then me but thanks for the heads up. I am going to look it this.

Mine was the same way. I worked the trim off and tightened the bolt up with some added loctite..
