Rear axle / wheel bearing recommendations / part numbers??

Read somewhere on here that nachi and koyo are like re-boxed oem bearings and about half the price.. but can't find part numbers for them.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Edit to add: 98 RWD with ABS if it makes a difference.

Rear Wheel bearing for the 98 3.4 V6 RWD is 90363-40020-77. Also I think its the NSK ones that are OES

Prolly also going to need the retainers that are 42423-20010 need 2 not sure if your has the abs toothed ring or not but its 43517-35010 need 2

Beck Arnley makes them too....you can get them from Rock Auto. Not sure of quality, but they're very reasonably priced compared to the others.

Thanks brothers. If I can get the toothed ABS ring and the retainer off with a press and spliter without damaging them.. I could just press them back on after putting the new bearings in right?
Or would it still be a good idea to at least put new inner retainers?

I got the Timken branded bearings from rockauto. They are labeled NACHI and made in Japan! They come with the retainers too.

Just wanted to verify; I ordered 2 Timken sets (1 for each side) and they are indeed NACHI branded from Japan. The retainers are also NACHI but say made in Brazil. ;o)

How is the machining on the Nachi retainers you got? When I got mine I noticed they weren't as good as the OEM ones (had nicks and the surface wasn't as well polished) so I just re-used the OEM ones.

I could have swore my Nachi retainers said Japan too, but maybe I just didn't look good enough.

While you're working on your rear differential this is a good modification for the breather. I've had problems with my '98 and '99 4Runner rear axle oil seals leaking until I did this.

The bearing do look OEM, that's the same as what I've used twice.

If you're good with a press you can re-use the ABS ring and one retainer ring with no issues. The shop re-used those both times but did destroy the other retainer ring both times. So make sure wherever you buy them from has a return policy so you can get your money back!

I was just looking into this. I changed my gear oil 2 weeks ago & yesterday it started leaking on the rear PS. I'm gonna do the Breather Extension Mod & see if it stops leaking. The original breather has never been replaced so I'm pretty sure it's clogged with dust & dirt. If it keeps leaking...well I'm screwed then.

Just an FYI: You can get the c-clip out if it's groove and slid up under the abs ring.. then press the whole shebang off the axle in one shot. I just did both of mine and it was better than cutting (cutting is wasting money).

The Retainers are great looking and stamped. The ones I removed must have been aftermarket because they had no markings on them. One seal was all rubber and the other was something like stock but who knows.
I flipped retainers and set at 4mm.
Doubt I'll have any issues for a long time now.

This is how I did it although I replaced the inner retainer but your way is fine because that outer retainer get no wear whatsoever.
Cutting also could possibly groove the axle causing a leak under the inner retainer if the groove is in that area.

Yeah, I replaced the retainers (both because each bearing came with 2 retainers) and seals and the o-rings for the flange.

It looks like it comes with everything I need except the ABS ring and the second retainer can those be reused or should I find them somewhere else?

That's a great price. OEM parts. Everything you need. You can reuse the outer retainer and the ABS ring if you press them off, which is the right way to do it.
