Just wanted to verify; I ordered 2 Timken sets (1 for each side) and they are indeed NACHI branded from Japan. The retainers are also NACHI but say made in Brazil. ;o)
Read somewhere on here that nachi and koyo are like re-boxed oem bearings and about half the price.. but can't find part numbers for them.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Edit to add: 98 RWD with ABS if it makes a difference.
While you're working on your rear differential this is a good modification for the breather. I've had problems with my '98 and '99 4Runner rear axle oil seals leaking until I did this.

Just an FYI: You can get the c-clip out if it's groove and slid up under the abs ring.. then press the whole shebang off the axle in one shot. I just did both of mine and it was better than cutting (cutting is wasting money).
The Retainers are great looking and stamped. The ones I removed must have been aftermarket because they had no markings on them. One seal was all rubber and the other was something like stock but who knows.
I flipped retainers and set at 4mm.
Doubt I'll have any issues for a long time now.
Need to replace my axle seals and figured I should probably do my bearings while its apart just wondering if anyone has ever used the kit that marlin crawler sells specifically the one I linked. It looks like it comes with everything I need except the ABS ring and the second retainer can those be reused or should I find them somewhere else?
