Rear Backrest Latch with Metal Body
Hi guys,
Rear backrest latch on my 1986 4Runner has plastic load-bearing body so it finally broke (Left completely broken, Right cracked), so I'm looking for replacement with metal body.
Do you know if a second-gen or third-gen has similar latches I can use?
The most important things are that:
1) It works like a common gate latch with the door "strike" in video / pics.
2) Dimensions of latch body approx. the same so it will mount on side of seat. Placement of mounting bolts no issue; I can always tap new ones.
3) Release mechanism could be either lever as in first-gens or a push/pull button/rod.
I can always rig up the release mechanism.
